About Us

Janesville Youth Football (JYF) is a dedicated, all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our main mission is to provide youth football education in a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment. We emphasize teamwork, safety, sportsmanship, dedication and community participation. We have a great partnership with Craig High School football program and Parker High School football program and appreciate their active involvement in our programs.

JYF began in 1992, with Audie Brandenburg, Randy Cuyler, Jerry Davis, Mel Cushing and John Schwartz. The group was wanting to provide additional tackle football opportunities for the local youth ages 9-13. Through hard work, sponsorships, and fundraising, the original board members were able to buy all new equipment and create a 12-team program.

JYF has continued to grow over the years with support from the Janesville community. Our 2025 football season had 14 tackle teams and 27 flag football teams, comprising of almost 600 Janesville community kids!
